Hymenoplasty Surgery : Virginity Reconstruction Procedure

The Hymen is a membrane of skin that sits in the lower half of the vagina. (The word hymen came from the Greek word hymen meaning membrane and raphe meaning suture.) The hymen is a thin membrane that partially blocks the vaginal entrance. While the biological function of the hymen is still uncertain, its social function is popularly regarded as a mythical symbol in many cultures. For women, it is important that their hymen be intact while unmarried due to cultural, religious, social or ethnic reasons.
The purpose of this procedure is to ‘regain’ virginity surgically wherein the plastic surgeon nimbly stitches up the remnants of the torn hymen. During consummation of the wedding, a few drops of blood stain the sheet as natural and intact hymen is have resulted.
Hymen reconstruction surgery, also known as hymenorrhaphy (hymenoplasty) is the surgical restoration of the hymen or reconstruction of hymen. Hymen reduction surgery generally aims to cause bleeding during the wedding night, which is essential in some cultures to prove the bride’s virginity.
As a result, hymen restoration has become one of the most popular cosmetic surgical procedures for women in India, and around the world.
Sexual intercourse will rupture the hymen; however, it may also be ruptured due to a cause not related to sexual activity. Gymnastic, Cycling, tampon use, horseback riding, and activities requiring extreme flexibility may also be a cause behind the breaking of hymen before marital sexual intercourse. In some rare cases a woman may have born without hymen.
Patients with the desire for higher sexual satisfaction may also be candidates for this procedure, because the vaginal walls are tightened. Hymenorrhaphy generally takes about one to two hours, with patients able to return to work the next day. Prior to surgery, patients are required to have a pre-surgical consultation and thorough gynecological examination.
The hymenoplasty is performed using local anesthetic and is a fairly simple procedure. In traditional hymenoplasty, an experienced physician will stitch the edges of the remaining hymen together. Women undergoing hymen restoration will also experience a tightening of the vaginal walls. It can be performed as a day case. The torn area has the upper layer of tissue removed so that when it is stitched back together, to form a ring, the area will fuse. The area is put back together as prior to the accident etc. The ring of membrane is made small enough so that on the first occurrence of intercourse it will tear again and there will be some pain and bleeding as before.
Patients can expect to return to work the day after surgery. Full recovery from hymen repair surgery can take up to 6 weeks, however the exact time depends on the individual. As hymenoplasty restores the hymen, patients will most likely experience the same sensation when it was first broken. Please note that it will bleed and some discomfort may also be felt.
Hymen reconstruction operations are legal in some countries, while in some these procedures are banned. Infibulations is considered illegal.

Hymen reconstruction surgery includes different types of procedure:

Hymenotomy
Hymen reconstruction surgery also includes Hymenotomy, a minor medical procedure to open or remove the hymen. Hymenotomy helps in normal menstruation or sexual intercourse. It is done to treat imperforate hymen or other situations where the hymen is unusually thick or rigid.

Vagina Reconstruction/ Tightening
Along with hymenoplasty surgery many females prefer to get their vagina reconstructed, is to get her vagina tightened, so that the female and her partner gets enhanced sex satisfaction.
These days many husbands want their wife to undergo vagina reconstruction surgery to enhance their sex life & get maximum satisfaction. And even wives on their own go for this surgery to give their husband a gift and sex satisfaction.
These two surgeries “Hymenoplasty" and "Vagina reconstruction" can be done simultaneously and will take approximately one hour to complete the surgery.
After the restoration, sexual intercourse will tear the reconstructed tissue, causing pain and possible bleeding, but healing will occur just as with a natural hymen. Bleeding occurs when the hymen tears, which is typically the result of a woman's first experience with intercourse, so this type of surgery will pull the tissue back together to restore a "virgin-like" quality.

AFTER THE PROCEDURE
You should expect some swelling and discomfort following the procedure. You will have sutures that may need to be removed if they are not dissolvable. Your surgeon will advise you about this also. Most patients notice a significant improvement in the bruising and swelling after the first two weeks but it can take some time for everything to settle completely.
